Hockey Director - Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association

40 Hours per week, full‐time, salaried. $40,000- $45,000 DOE + possible performance-based bonus; Ten paid vacation days, Contribution towards health care

Overview of the position

Regarding this position, the Board of Directors has established the following goals for BAHA's hockey programs. They are:

- Offered at reasonable cost
- Respond to member expectations
- Encourage "hockey for life"
- Emphasize fun, citizenship, and sportsmanship
- Understand the difference between a desire to win and winning at all costs

Areas of emphasis

I. Campaign to build a second rink.

BAHA is involved in a campaign to raise approximately $5 million to construct a second rink, with the capability of supporting year round ice. The hockey director will play an important role in this effort and when the campaign is complete will share responsibility for developing/growing ice programs that benefit the entire Gallatin Valley community.

II. Program Development & Community Outreach

BAHA seeks a director who can oversee and develop not only our youth programs, but also assist with programing for the entire community. This may include; Adult hockey, public skating, figure skating, curling, broom-ball, the Montana State University Bobcats Hockey Club and where appropriate the Junior A Tier III Bozeman Ice Dogs.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Oversee the selection, evaluation, education, and retention of BAHA coaches
- Oversee the selection and retention of BAHA youth team managers
- Coordinate tryouts and player selection
- Help coaches organize and implement practice plans, periodically attending practices at all age groups and levels
- In conjunction with the Administrative Assistant: oversee and and assist with all youth hockey tournaments; coordinate off-premise promotional events: Wild Ice Initiative, fairs, parades, fundraisers (ie. golf tournament)
- Act as BAHA voting representative and liaison to the Montana Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA)
- Serve as mentor, role model and educator for all coaches, managers, and players
- Provide advice to the Board, especially regarding the development of age specific programs consistent with guidance from USA Hockey
- Provide parent education re: BAHA & USA Hockey programs & policies
- Develop and manage an annual budget
- Manage and maintain related equipment
- Help Operations Director maximize use of available ice time
- Help the Board increase fundraising and community outreach efforts

Qualifications

The hockey director will preferably have an earned BA/BS degree from an accredited four‐year university and is willing to obtain USA Hockey CEP certification equal to the highest‐level program BAHA offers, currently level 3.

The hockey director will preferably have a strong hockey background with experience and knowledge gained though play at the college, junior or professional level and the demonstrated ability to comfortably and effectively teach coaches, players, and parents. They should also have exceptional communication and organizational skills.

BAHA will consider candidates from non-hockey backgrounds provided they produce a demonstrated record of youth sports program development and successful community outreach efforts. The candidate must show the ability to develop and manage a program annual budget. The ability to document a history of revenue growth based on program development will be a considerable advantage.

Junior Everblades Hockey Director Position

The Junior Everblades Hockey Director will be responsible for the growth and development of the Junior Everblades Travel Hockey program. Head Coach - University of Michigan Women's Ice Hockey Club

The University of Michigan Women's Ice Hockey Club is seeking a highly motivated head coach who can provide on-ice guidance that will allow the club to find success at the national level. The UM team is in the CCWHA League and is a D1 ACHA team. UM Women's Ice Hockey is a student-run organization that elects a board of players to perform all organizational tasks (i.e. game/referee scheduling, making travel arrangements, etc.), so the candidate need not perform "manager duties" in the traditional youth club sense. He/she must possess outstanding communication skills, strong leadership, and have experience coaching at a high level.

Start Date

- The Head Coach is expected to work with the board over the summer to coordinate and organize the upcoming season.
- Season begins September through March.

Required Qualifications

- Proven coaching success in a competitive ice hockey program.
- Ability to commit to all competitions during the months of September through March.
- Ability to run practices (approximately 4 hours per week). Practices are held Mon-Thurs - split between one early morning and 1-2 evening skates per week.
- Experience with coaching women's ice hockey.
- USAH Coaching certification (Level 4) and the ability to comply with other USAH/ACHA and UM requirements (safesport training) before the beginning of the season.

Responsibilities

- Run tryouts in September with team captains and coordinate with Team Leadership to select the team for the upcoming season.
- Lead practices and supervise all aspects of training and competition.
- Travel with team to away competitions and tournaments.
- Work closely with the Team Leadership to have a successful season by collectively assessing team strengths and weaknesses.
- Collaborate and plan over the summer for the upcoming season.
- Accept the responsibility of being a positive representative of the University of Michigan.

Salary

- $3,000 for the 2015/16 season.
- Transportation and lodging for away events provided.

This program provides quality information while mentoring and guiding players through the intense recruiting or draft process. Precision Hockey Advisor Program provides one-on-one guidance towards goals through conference calls, emails, and/or meetings. Coaching for elite players greatly improves the development process; it is about finding the path that works best for them and taking the necessary steps to reach short-term and long-term goals. The overall objective is to help an athlete get to the next level and to further their hockey career. It is the scout's job to see as many players they can and get those players interested in our program.

EKU Colonels Men's Ice Hockey - Volunteer Assistant Coach

The EKU Colonels Hockey Club is seeking a volunteer assistant coach for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The Colonels play a 26-game schedule in the ACHA with two practices per week and two off-ice sessions per week on campus.

The responsibilities will consist of assisting the Head Coach in planning, organizing and administrating all aspects of the program; including practice planning and implementation, strength and conditioning, video analysis and academic monitoring.

Please note that the position is strictly volunteer. However, there may exist compensation for this position through a Graduate Assistantship through the hockey program's close ties to the EKU Department of Exercise and Sport Science (candidate must meet Admission requirements).

IGT-Intensity Goaltender Training - Interns

IGT-Intensity Goaltender Training is looking for interns to assist us with new markets. As an intern, you will work with our coaches in training and advising goalies in your area, and will receive all of our assistance with your career.

We follow all NCAA rules and regulations, with the goal of assisting you in attending the college or university of your choice, playing at the highest level possible!
