CAMP CHIPINAW HOCKEY INSTRUCTORS NEEDED

Camp Chipinaw & Silver Lake Camp are looking for Roller/Floor Hockey instructors for this upcoming summer. Spend two months in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of New York teaching hockey to 7-16 year old campers. You will also live in a bunk with campers and experience all that our camp has to offer. Our staff come from all around the world and across the country to make this a great summer experience for our campers.

We are also looking for a Hockey Director. Must have experience running a program or travel team.

New York Aviators Youth Hockey - Coaches Wanted

The New York Aviators, based out of Brooklyn, NY, are seeking qualified candidates for coaching positions within the Youth program for the 2016-2017 season.

EKU Colonels Men's Ice Hockey - Volunteer Assistant Coach

The EKU Colonels Hockey Club is seeking a volunteer assistant coach for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The Colonels will play a 31-game schedule in the ACHA with two practices per week and two off-ice sessions per week on campus.

The responsibilities will consist of assisting the Head Coach in planning, organizing and administrating all aspects of the program; including practice planning and implementation, strength and conditioning, video analysis and academic monitoring.

Please note that the position is strictly volunteer. However, similar to this year's coaching staff, there may exist indirect compensation for this position through a Graduate Assistantship through the hockey program's close ties to the EKU Department of Exercise and Sport Science (candidate must meet Admission requirements) and other departments within the school.

EXPECTATIONS:

The coach will provide a level of support necessary to make this a positive and successful experience for the student athletes. This position is primarily responsible for coaching, with secondary responsibilities of assisting with travel, risk management, conduct and safety of the members of the club.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Promote the development of a successful program including the development of high quality student-athletes, as well as demonstrating athletic excellence.
- Establish a leadership/mentor role and display an unyielding commitment to honesty and integrity while promoting sportsmanship and responsible behavior both during and outside of athletic competition.
- Display an unyielding commitment to compliance with the National Governing Body and regional league associated with the sport, as well as all policies and procedures of the University of Richmond and the Recreation and Wellness Department.

- Act as the liaison for the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
- Act as the liaison for the Richmond Ice Zone and Skate Nation.
- Attend select University functions and/or meetings.
- Attend Leadership Council meetings and trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- A demonstrated expertise in coaching is required for this position.
- The ability to work in concert with the Assistant Director for Sports to lead and motivate student-athletes is a fundamental competency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to coach specific segments or groups in the sport is a prerequisite.
- A thorough knowledge of USA Hockey's and the American Collegiate Hockey Association's policies and procedures.
- USA Hockey Coaching Certification Level 1 – Must be willing to obtain the higher certifications.
- Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid is required within 2 weeks of hire.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Previous experience on the collegiate level is highly desirable for this position.

NYC: General Manager / Director of Ice Hockey Operations

Location: Staten Island, NY.
Start Date: January 2016

Purpose of Position: To serve as the Full-time General Manager of Staten Island Skating Pavilion rink operations, as well as serve as Director of Hockey Operations.

The General Manager position is responsible for the management the day-to-day ice rink operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to planning, organizing and directing ice facilities operations as well as maintaining proper records and reports pertaining to operation of ice facility. General Manager is responsible to scheduling and maintaining ice surface slots and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and all safety procedures followed according to policies and procedures. Sets departmental goals, objectives, and policies. Operates a Zamboni when necessary.

Director of Ice Hockey will be responsible for the direction, administration, management, supervision and marketing of all ice hockey programming needs of the Staten Island Skating Pavilion (SISP) . Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administering and directing all aspects of facility ice hockey programs which includes learn to play, house leagues, travel teams (Mite – Midget). The Director of Ice Hockey will also be responsible with coordinating any tournaments. The Hockey director is responsible as event coordinator for outside groups who use SISP for hockey activities. Director of Ice Hockey will be the advisor to Thunder's hockey governor as well as its coaches. They will be part of the administration and management of youth camps during the summer and school breaks, as well as have financial responsibility for the directing and managing of the hockey program budget. This position will be responsible for strategic planning to increase revenue for Staten Island Skating Pavilion through creation of new programming and the bidding out tournaments. Position reports to directly to President/General Manager of Staten Island Skating Pavilion.

Duties/Physical Demands:

* Required to perform duties with limited supervision and will be required to make significant independent decisions.
* Direct, manage, implement, and develop ongoing policies and procedures for all hockey related programming with emphasis on risk management and safety of all patrons and staff.
* Directs and oversees all hockey related equipment used for Youth Hockey with an emphasis on safety and quality.
* Direct, recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise hockey coaches for Learn to Skate / Hockey Initiation Program.
* Direct, recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise Richmond Thunder Association Travel and In-house team coaches and managers.
* Directs and evaluate all ice hockey instruction for Richmond Thunder Association travel program.
* Direct, organize and manage Adult Learn to Play Hockey as well as Adult League Hockey
* Direct the planning and organizing the marketing of all SISP Ice Center hockey programs.
* Direct all USA Hockey Coaches Clinics operating out of SISP.
* Organize and support USA Hockey official's clinics operating out of SISP.
* Act as Manager on Duty for facility coverage and a variety of other duties associated with the ice hockey programs, other ice related activities.
* Direct the special ordering of ice hockey equipment.
* Establish working relationships with individuals to further enhance the mission of SISP.
* Establish working relationships with outside ice hockey groups who can further enhance the mission of SISP.

New England Women's Junior Hockey League - Commissioner

The New England Women's Junior Hockey League (NEWJHL), which consists of six organizations in the Northeast with direct-to-college, full season development teams, seeks a commissioner to help expand the league and oversee the on-ice, competitive component.

The commissioner position will be part-time with the potential to grow with the league in coming years. The NEWJHL is preparing to roll out a youth league and a calendar of events that will add to the duties and responsibilities of this positions.

The NEWJHL is looking for someone with college playing and/or coaching experience who has maintained a solid rapport with current NCAA Division I and III women's ice hockey coaches.

There will be three parts to the position of commissioner:

1 - Oversee and manage the NEWJHL Junior Division to assist each team in moving players directly to college.
2 - Oversee and manage the NEWJHL Youth Division with the goal of continuing to grow this competitive unit while maintaining parity.

Unites States Naval Academy - Head Coach for women's ACHA Division 2 hockey program

The Unites States Naval Academy seeks a head coach for the women's ACHA Division 2 hockey program for the 2016-17 academic year. This position reports directly to the Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) Director of Club Sports. The selected candidate will insure the team operates and conducts themselves within the ideals and goals set forth by the Naval Academy and the rules and regulations of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The women's hockey coach is responsible instructing/coaching student athletes, conducting practices, scheduling games, maintaining equipment as needed and working in conjunction with the team's Officer Representative to plan travel, lodging and meals for players and managers. Desired qualifications include Bachelor's Degree and previous college hockey or junior hockey coaching experience. Must be USA Hockey Coaching certified and should have experience recruiting competitive, elite-level athletes.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- One to three years coaching experience at the college/pro level and/or collegiate playing experience preferred.
- Ability to recruit within league rules.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral communication, and computer skills.
- Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game, and the ability to coach and motivate.
- The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a background and check satisfactory to NAAA requirements prior to commencing.

New England Future Stars – Coaching Positions
