DIVISION I WOMEN - MERCYHURST
After beating Ohio State 2-1 on January 31st, the Lakers took some momentum into February. They started February with two conference road wins against Wayne State, 6-0 and 3-0. They then played league rival Findlay for the last times ever at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. The Lakers won two hard-fought games, 2-1 and 4-3 in overtime. The 4-3 overtime win was the eighth one goal game the Lakers have won this season and kept them unbeaten in College Hockey America at 10-0-0. The game-winner was scored with 14 seconds left by freshmen Julia Colizza, one of eleven newcomers on the 2003-04 team. Mercyhurst closed the month with a pair of games at top-ten rival, Princeton. The Lakers won the first contest 4-2, but dropped game two 3-0 despite outshooting the Tigers 40-19.
Junior goaltender Desi Clark is second nationally in save percentage (.936), third in goals-against-average (1.49), and fifth in winning percentage (.765). The Lakers have Division I's third-best scoring defense (1.53) and eighth-best penalty kill (.882).
