Six coaches who have enjoyed on-ice success in 2008-09 have been named finalists for the AHCA Division I Women’s Ice Hockey Coach of the Year Award. The award will be presented at the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Coach of the Year Banquet on Saturday, April 25, in Naples, FL. Among the finalists are two former winners: 2003 recipient Shannon Miller of Minnesota-Duluth and 2006 and 2007 Coach of the Year Mark Johnson of Wisconsin. Both are competing this weekend in Boston at the NCAA Division I Women's Frozen Four, along with fellow finalists Brad Frost of Minnesota and Mike Sisti of Mercyhurst.
To be a finalist for this award, you must either be voted Coach of the Year in your conference, or take your team to the NCAA Frozen Four.
